With the advent of Base Object Model (BOM) Standards, which have been stood up by the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO),
stability now exists to build BOM-focused Modeling & Simulation (M&S) tools. SimVentions is a strong believer in the BOM concept and the interoperability,
reuse, and composability it brings. Shortly following the release of SISO’s BOM Trial Use Standard, SimVentions released the BOMworks™ tool. BOMworks™
provides M&S Engineers the ability to leverage the world of reuse and composability that BOMs offer.
BOMworks™ gives you the ability to create, edit, visualize, validate, and export BOMs.
You can edit BOMs via a property inspector view, use the UML diagrams for supporting your
conceptual analysis, or get into the XML, the choice is yours. When finished with a BOM,
you can export it to HTML for viewing/printing, or, output the BOM to a FOM for import into
your favorite HLA OMT tool and/or to use in your existing HLA system.
What You Need To Do To Get BOMworks™
- BOMworks™ requires Java 1.6 or higher.
- Download the latest BOMworks™ Community Edition version (1.3)

- For Windows, run the downloaded install program to begin the installation process. For a Mac, unzip the downloaded package and run it to begin installation. For other JRE 1.5 platforms, unzip the java files into a directory and run the BOMworks.jar.
- Once installed, the application is disabled until registered, click Help | Registration to request your FREE registration key!
- Your registration key will be emailed immediately to the e-mail address provided in the request.
- After you have received your registration key, enter the registration key. BOMworks™ should now be unlocked!
- Be sure to use
the “check for updates” feature to ensure
you always have the latest version.
