Delphi Roadmap (and C++?)

If you hadn't heard the news by now, C++ is intended to be a personality of the Delphi tool suite - known in some circles as Borland Developer Studio. The first release, which is code named Dexter, for this next version of Delphi and the C++(Builder) personality is expected by the end of this year. The anticipation is building and this is evidenced by the recent EKON 9 event held in Germany, in which Borland unveiled their Delphi Roadmap beyond just Dexter.

Marco Cantu provides a nice write up of the roadmap at his blog. Be sure to check it out.

The best part of what I read is that there are plans for supporting 64bit Windows!!! We can only hope that C++ (not just the Delphi compiler) is part of that picture too. And according to Dr.Bob - it is! If so, this is great news!

Here's a nice screen shot of the roadmap slide. Be sure to check it out.
