SimVentions, Inc., a Spotsylvania defense-engineering firm, was chosen by the Fredericksburg, VA regional Chamber of Commerce as the Business of the Year for 2012! “This is a great honor for all of us since the award represents the very underpinnings of our company as stated in our motto, Your Success is Our Honor™,“ said Larry Root, SimVentions President and CEO.
This annual award goes to the company that, in the eyes of the selection committee, has demonstrated great business success while also generously giving back to the community and to help make the Fredericksburg region a better place to live. The award specifically cited the company’s selection by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell as a “Virginia Jobs Creator” for hiring 20 people in a difficult financial year, the company’s involvement in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) in the community, their willingness to allow Germanna Community College use of its corporate facilities at no cost after the college’s facilities were damaged by the August 2011 earthquake, and the company’s work with Special Olympics, which spans nearly a decade.
Members of the SimVentions team sit on numerous service boards in the community including Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Smart Beginnings, and the Military Affairs Council (MAC) to name a few. SimVentions is host to the annual “SimVentions Golf Outing” where proceeds go to help a local ministry or family in need.
