“To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Service and outreach is a very important part of the SimV Culture. We are blessed to be able to sponsor this year’s, 4th annual trip to Plaisance, Haiti. SimV’s Lindsey Biggs, Debbie Nicholson, Barbara Moon, and Brad Neal’s wife, Cindy, will join others from Foundation Guillame and spend a week in the remote town in the mountains starting April 2nd.
The team will serve those in Plaisance medically, by holding three separate clinics that will treat over 600 locals. The group is fortunate to have received enough donations to now be able to perform vision tests, so they can distribute reading and prescription glasses to those in need. They also plan to buy and gift goats and chickens for families so they can sell and consume their own eggs and milk, providing them with their own business.
The trip leader, Lindsey, said, “It means a lot to me and the people of Plaisance to see how this trip has grown since my first trip in 2016. Haiti holds a very special place in my heart and I am so thankful for all the support, donations, and prayers from my friends, family, and SimV.”
