SimVentions Promotes New CFO and VP of Finance!

Fredericksburg, VA, 11-6-2020: SimVentions announced the promotion of Ryan VanderWijst to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Jennifer Bonney to Vice President, Finance. Ryan will be responsible for the management of corporate financial strategy, implementation, and performance. Jennifer will be responsible for leading the accounting and corporate and program finance organizations and continuing as SimVentions’ Controller and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in this role and serve as a key member of the SimVentions Corporate Leadership Team (CLT).

Mr. VanderWijst brings significant academic accomplishments including an economics degree from West Virginia University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame this coming spring.  He is also a certified Program Management Professional (PMP) and a Leadership Advisory Board Member for the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce.  His academic accomplishments, certifications, operational and technical excellence, demonstrated leadership, and thorough understanding of SimVentions and its culture uniquely position him for this role on the firm’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT).  “Ryan has the right combination of innovation, ambition, performance, reputation, and passion for our business,” says Joe Caliri, SimVentions President.

Prior to this promotion, Mr. VanderWijst was Director of Electronic Warfare Programs for SimVentions, where he has served for the past five years. He has been instrumental to several of the company’s Advisory Councils and has successfully led numerous projects in his nine years with the company.  He was also instrumental in positioning SimVentions to become a premier Electronic Warfare defense contractor supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) commands and related technical communities.

Ryan is assuming the responsibilities of CFO from Steve Goss, co-founder and CFO since SimVentions’ inception in 2000.  Steve has moved into planning and executing Strategic Initiatives for the company. Larry Root, SimVentions CEO, states, “This new focus for Steve and promotion for Ryan strengthens achieving our Mission, Purpose, and Vision and best positions SimVentions for stability and continued long-term growth while expanding our leadership capacity.”

Ms. Bonney has a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in public accounting from Loyola University Chicago, has her CPA, and is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).  “Jennifer brings 25+ years of professional experience in financial management, business administration, and accounting with a concentrated focus in the government contracting industry,” says Joe Caliri, SimVentions President.  “Jennifer’s expertise in financial analysis, strategic budgeting, financial statement reporting, indirect rate structures, corporate compliance in tax, audit, and 401Ks made her uniquely qualified for this important role,” continues Caliri.

“I will be counting on Jennifer’s experience and passion in leading and developing teams, proficiency in FAR and GAAP compliance, proven accounting strategies, and her experience with corporate acquisitions. She will also be critical to aligning the implementation of our ERP accounting system across the company,” says Ryan VanderWijst, SimVentions CFO.
