SimVentions is a founding sponsor of the FredNats Baseball Team for the 2021 season, that offered opportunities more than just having our name in the stadium. Every Sunday home game, SimV led the Salute-to-Service, which recognized a veteran who got to throw the first pitch. The players wore camouflage jerseys in honor of our military on those days. The team’s inaugural season camouflage jerseys went on auction to the public, presented by SimV, with all proceeds going to the Families of the Wounded Fund (FOTWF). The auction raised over $21,000 for this incredible organization.
The Families of the Wounded Fund provides financial resources in support of family members and caregivers of military service men and women who have either been wounded in combat operations or injured as the result of line-of-duty activities in support of combat operations. Their support includes lodging, meals, transportation, healthcare, childcare, and a variety of miscellaneous needs experienced by these family members/caregivers while they are attending to their loved ones. The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that go through the FOTWF have a long and very difficult road ahead. Most are young, and their lives and the lives of their families have been forever changed. These wounded American heroes and their families clearly understand the high cost of freedom.
