SimVentions Recognized by U.S. Dept. of Labor as Veteran-Employment Leader!

Fredericksburg, VA., 11-16-2022: SimVentions, Inc. was recognized by the United States (U.S.) Department of Labor as a veteran-employment leader and awarded the 2022 Platinum HIRE Vets Medallion Award.

The goal of this program is to honor the employers who hire our Nation’s heroes. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award   that recognizes a company’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development. By meeting the criteria required for a Platinum Medallion Award in the Medium Business Category, SimVentions has demonstrated a model of patriotism worthy of praise as well as recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.

“SimVentions is excited to once again be recognized as a HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion recipient by the U.S. Dept of Labor’s Veteran’s Employment and Training Service (VETS), as our passion has always been to serve our warfighters and there is no better way to drive that passion forward than to hire those that have served!” said Larry Root, CEO, SimVentions. “We have a large picture on the wall in our office that shows various warfighters in theater and in action…and below this picture are the words: Remember. They Fight for Us. We Work for Them. This serves as a constant reminder of why we are in business and the blessing that comes from serving those that fight for our Country and its interest around the world.”

“As a veteran, it’s easy for me to relate to the benefits of hiring other veterans.  They add diversity, a strong work ethic, teamwork, and leadership skills to the workplace. They also bring the voice of the warfighter to supplement the technical excellence of our developers and engineers.” Said Joe Caliri, President, SimVentions.  “It surely helps to transition new and innovative technology to our country’s warfighters if we have warfighters involved in the development and integration too.”

About HIREVets:

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 (HIRE Vets Act or the Act), signed by President Trump on May 5, 2017, requires the Secretary of Labor to establish a program, by rule, that recognizes employer efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans. Employer-applicants meeting criteria established in the rule will receive a “HIRE Vets Medallion Award.” As described in the Act, there are different awards for large employers (500-plus employees), medium employers (51-499 employees), and small employers (50 or fewer employees). Additionally, there are two award tiers: platinum and gold. For each award, the employer must satisfy a set of criteria. Verification of these criteria includes a self-attestation by the applicant and a check for violations of veteran-related DOL labor laws by the U.S. Department of Labor. A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking was published on August 18, 2017. DOL’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) thoroughly evaluated and carefully considered all comments received.
