SimVentions Participates in Navy’s Adaptable Interface Innovation Challenge

Fredericksburg, VA, 11-06-2023: SimVentions is honored to have been a participant in the Navy’s Adaptable Interface Innovation Challenge, a competition centered on the development and demonstration of a versatile interface, to facilitate the swift integration of diverse systems and interfaces.

Initiated by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), the finalists participating in the Innovation Challenge included 13 teams representing various prominent companies, each tasked with developing a unique solution to a common problem. The event showcased the ingenuity and creativity of American talent.

Although SimVentions’ solution, named the Rapid Combat System (CS) Interface Generator (RCIG), did not secure the top spot in the Innovation Challenge, it undeniably proved itself as a formidable contender. Paul Gustavson, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), of SimVentions, expressed his immense pride in the team’s dedication to crafting and exploring such a flexible solution, saying, “I couldn’t be prouder of our team for their dedication to exploring and engineering such a remarkably flexible solution. This challenge provided a unique platform for the rising generation of innovators within our organization to demonstrate their creativity and technical competence.”

The SimVentions team was comprised of five passionate engineers, each dedicated to coding and crafting solutions that bolster the capabilities of our military and decision-makers. Our accomplished Lead Engineer, Josh, led the initiative. Josh was supported by the skilled talents of Traci, Jeremy, Ryan, and Joe. Collaboratively, they conceived an innovative approach for seamlessly integrating diverse data into a unified format. Their ingenious tool boasts a dual functionality—a Design Time workbench for interface mapping and integration and a Run Time playbox for real-time data transformation across various interfaces. The RCIG tool not only exemplifies SimVentions’ agile approach and innovation but also provides a robust foundation to further advance the Navy’s operational needs.

Please join us in congratulating the team for a job well done!
