Fredericksburg, VA (11-20-2024) – As a founding partner of the Fredericksburg Nationals (FredNats), SimVentions was delighted to continue its Salute to Service sponsorship for the 2024 baseball season. The partnership provided meaningful opportunities for the company and our employee-owners to give back to the community and honor military veterans.
As part of the sponsorship, SimVentions engaged in the Salute to Service at each Sunday home game, a tribute to veterans that featured a special ceremony where a local veteran was invited to throw the first pitch. On these days, the FredNats players donned camouflage jerseys in honor of the military. These jerseys were later auctioned off to the public, with all proceeds benefiting Semper K9, an organization dedicated to providing custom-trained service dogs to wounded U.S. veterans.
The jersey auction, presented by SimVentions, raised over $24K to support Semper K9’s mission. Semper K9, founded and operated by combat veterans, enhances the quality of life for disabled American veterans by providing them with custom-trained service dogs for psychiatric and mobility challenges. Semper K9 uses rescued and donated dogs and offers the trained dogs free of charge to veterans and their families.
Joe Caliri, President of SimVentions, shared, “We selected Semper K9 as the 2024 beneficiary of our Salute to Service because we believe in their mission. Their commitment to enhancing the lives of wounded veterans aligns with our own values as a relationship-centered company, focused on supporting our employee owners, customers, and communities.” The amount raised this year was enough to cover all the expenses of selecting and training a service dog and teaching the veteran how to utilize the dog. Freddy, appropriately named, is almost ready to join his veteran fulltime.
