Fredericksburg, VA —10/27/2025 — SimVentions proudly celebrated its 11th Annual Day of Service, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement across Fredericksburg, King George, Ruther Glen, Fairfax, and Virginia Beach. Employee-owners volunteered their time and talents to support local organizations through hands-on projects and donation drives.
At Valor Ranch, a nonprofit providing recreational therapy for injured military personnel, 19 SimVentions volunteers prepped, scraped, and painted two outbuildings—the Woodshop and Equipment Shed—giving them a fresh barn-red finish. Their efforts helped restore vital spaces that support veterans in their recovery and well-being.
At Loisann’s Hope House, Fredericksburg’s oldest family homeless shelter, volunteers brought energy and care to the facility while assisting staff with maintenance projects and seasonal preparations. Their work supported Hope House’s mission of providing stability and resources to families experiencing homelessness for more than 30 years.
Another team partnered with Beauty for Ashes, a women’s home in Fredericksburg, to complete extensive renovation work that improved the safety and comfort of the property. Projects included moving large windows, reinforcing foundations, installing ceramic tile, mixing and pouring concrete, improving drainage, chopping firewood, and cleaning up the property to create a more welcoming environment for residents.
In Ruther Glen, SimVentions partnered with Servants at Work (SAWs® VA) to construct a 60-foot wheelchair ramp for a local resident. The project began with a 5×7-foot porch platform and extended through multiple ramp sections and turns leading to the driveway. The new ramp will provide the homeowner with safe and reliable access to their home for years to come.
In Virginia Beach, volunteers revitalized the entrance to Samaritan House, an organization supporting victims of domestic violence and homelessness since 1984. The team weeded and refreshed garden beds, planting 16 new perennials to create a more welcoming environment for families and visitors seeking refuge and support.
In Fredericksburg, volunteers joined the Washington Heritage Museums to assist at the historic Rising Sun Tavern, built in 1760 by George Washington’s youngest brother, Charles Washington. The team helped preserve the site’s rich history and ensure it remains accessible to visitors eager to learn about Fredericksburg’s colonial past.
Finally, in Fairfax, SimVentions’ employee-owners supported Nova Labs, a nonprofit, all-volunteer makerspace founded in 2011. Volunteers assisted with facility improvements to help the organization continue its mission of empowering the community to “Rediscover the Joy of Making Things” through creativity, innovation, and education.
This year’s Day of Service exemplifies SimVentions’ dedication to making a positive impact, fostering teamwork, and strengthening the communities where its employee-owners live and work.
