Fredericksburg, VA, 10/08/2026: SimVentions’ SmartKM technology is featured in a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Small Business Success Story. The feature highlights SmartKM’s progression from initial development to a Phase III contract with DARPA and opportunities for its continued use.
SmartKM is a secure web application designed to help users store, curate, and discover knowledge. DARPA recognized the technology in its Modeling and Simulation Repository category, with SimVentions among 36 businesses featured for their contributions to national safety and security.
“SmartKM has been an exciting opportunity to demonstrate what is possible through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. By bringing together a talented team with deep technical expertise, we were able to address DARPA’s technical challenges while developing a capability with applications that extend well beyond its original mission. I am incredibly proud of what the team accomplished and of what this effort demonstrates about SimVentions’ ability to bring innovative solutions to our customers’ most challenging problems,” said Rachael Orzechowski, Director of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Management Technologies within SimVentions.
